The other day I showed a pretty elaborate, three panel card using the "Holy Triptych" stamp set from Stampin' Up! (Catalog # 110370) It's a card and a gift all-in-one, using the watercolor technique and metallic embossing in either copper or gold.
Here is another, simpler project using only the frame stamp from the same stamp set: a gift tag.
Simple, simple, simple! I inked the frame stamp from "Holy Triptych" first in Veramark Ink and then in Riding Hood Red. (DId you know this was a way that you could turn dye ink pads into hybrids, that can then be embossed?!?). I stamped the image on Whisper White, and then embossed with clear embossing powder. I did the same with the "Merry Christmas" stamp from the "All Holidays" stamp set (SU Catalog # 109397) using Old Olive ink. And I used by Stamp-a-ma-jog to make sure it was straight.
The Whisper White was trimmed close to the embossed edge of the frame, and I mounted the image on Old Olive cardstock. Now, I have to confess that I made a little boo-boo, and trimmed the Old Olive a little too close for my taste....So I just added another layer of Handsome Hunter.
The tag was finished with a piece of 1" wide red organdy ribbon, tied by a a gold cord.
Of course you could use all kinds of sentiments or greetings. Vary the color, and it can be used for any occasion, too!
Fun and simple!! The best combination!!
